About International Town Criers Day

DESCRIPTION:
International Town Criers Day falls on the second Monday of July and is devoted to remembering the importance of the town crier prior to print media.
Town criers were the source of the latest news and events for much of modern history. Originating in England, town criers were primarily employed to disseminate information of the royal family and aristocracy.
This event was created in 1996 by the Waterloo Town Crier Scott Fraser.
